Divorce Conflict Hurts Children - 2278 Words
Divorce Conflict Hurts Children Christina Henderson DeVry University Divorce Conflict Hurts Children Six year old Olivia stands alone in front of her bedroom window, silent tears streaming down her tiny face. She watches her father put his suitcase in his car and drive away. She does not know what divorce is, but she does know on some internal level, that her life will never be the same. Olivia is right; divorce is a watershed event in the life of a child. Life following a divorce is dramatically changed from how life was before. It shows that married-parent households, with only a high school diploma, have a median income that is 10 percent higher than college-educated single-parent househo lds (Whitehead, 2013, p. 715). This statistic clearly shows how children from divorced households are less well-off. The parentsââ¬â¢ time and money is now split between two households and two sets of bills. Marriage creates stability, emotionally and socially for a child. According to Dr. Pickhardt, a psychologist and author of 15 parenting books, a childââ¬â¢s social life is primarily found in his or her family. A child depends fully on his or her parents, and after a divorce a child loses trust in dependency since the parents are now behaving in an undependable way. The child is now divided between two different households and shuttled back and forth. This creates unfamiliarity, instability, and insecurity. The child can never be with one parent without being apart from, and missing, the other parent (Pickhardt, 2011, para. 6). Operation Management Reflection on Presentation â⬠Free Samples
Question: Discuss about the Reflection on Presentation Of Woolworth. Answer: Reflection 1 The referred presentation is made on Woolworths operation management and decision making models. The main content covered in the presentation are: Description of the organization, Operational strategy of Woolworths, decision making process and innovation, product and service design, value chain and quality management process at Woolworths. First thing which I found peculiar was the missing content page, it is extremely important for the audience to know the content of the PPT before getting into detail, hence always make it a point to include the Table of content. Description of the company is apt, but the words could have been reduced and better images would have made the presentation stand out. The slide containing the operational strategy is crisp, but certain key points would have been fantastic. The decision making model which has been presented in the further slides does not provide a clear insight on the relevancy of the models and the actual models involved. Product and service design value chain slides stand out in the entire presentation. If I have to suffice the presentation, it is a good presentation, which could have been brilliant if better images with high resolution could be used, less content in the slides and high relevancy would have made it an outstanding presentation. Reflection 2 The presentation here is made on David Jones which an upmarket Australian departmental store which is owned by South African retail giant Woolworths. First thing this stuck to my mind while going through the presentation was inconsistency with the formatting, blurred and broken images, absurd Table of content page and too many graphics which does not make any sense. Moving forward with the content slides, I strongly feel that the order of the slides is wrong, for example recommendation and conclusion should come at the end, just before the references, in this case however, it is not so. If I have to rate the presentation on the quality of content and the research done behind that, I would say that I am impressed. It must have certainly took a lot of time for the team members to do extensive research, find high relevancy in the content, look for the information on various sites to sum it all up together in the presentation, hence, a big round of applause for the team for such an elabo rative work. The presentation just lacks in the flow, rest apart it is satisfactory presentation. The diagrams are in perfect sync with the written material, but the pictures being broken and stretched seems to destroy the effectiveness of the presentation.
